He subsequently graduated from the University of Texas law school in Austin, Texas, and worked for 22 years-most of his career-at the Fulbright and Jaworski Law Firm in Houston, Texas. He married Clara Louise Franzetti on October 17, 1950. They were married until her death in 2010. He is survived by their three children – Cara Nina Newton, Dr. Guy (and Leslye) Newton, and Dr. Joseph (and Dr. Theresa) Newton, as well as six grandchildren-Ashley, Christopher, Justin, Tristin, Austin, and Christin Newton.
He was a good and loving husband and father, and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He will always be loved and missed by those who knew him for his kindness, honesty, good nature, keen wit, and sense of humor.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, Texas 77079 with interment to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in his memory to the Society for the Propogation of the Faith or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
