GRANDVIEW, Iowa - Bertha L. Stickrod, 94, of Grandview, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015, at the Sunnyvale Hospital in Sunnyvale, Texas.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Dr. Hal Green will officiate. Casket bearers will be David Stickrod, Rodney Stickrod, Sandy Steel, Josh Cassaday, Mack Smith, George Calvelage, and Travis Buster. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Louisa County Public Health.

Bertha was born on October 9, 1920, in Muscatine, the daughter of Alfred and Ethel Kellums Atkins. She married Kirk P. Stickrod on March 18, 1939, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2002.

She had worked for Thatcher Plastic for a number of years. She retired from Royal Neighbors Home in Davenport. She enjoyed fishing, music, dancing, going to parties, and loved people. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, going mushroom hunting, and loved having her picture taken.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Judy Buster and husband, Merwin, of Forney, Texas, Jerry Stickrod and wife, Julie, of Sioux City, and Bill Stickrod and wife, Diana, of Grandview; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Atkins and wife, Harriet, and Delbert Atkins, all of Muscatine; and one sister, Dorothy Smith and husband, Mack, of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and three sisters.
