Emma Mauldin died at the family residence in west Erick after having suffered intensely since July 1, 1910, from the effects of having being burned that day. She married Rev. H. L. Mauldin December 25, 1889 and eight children were born from this union, five of whom survive their mother. Survived also by her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wallace and three brothers Charles Wallace, James Wallace, and Herschel Wallace.
