FAIRBANKS - John Louis McFadden, 88, of Fairbanks died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, in Miller's Merrry Manor. He was born May 18, 1915, in Shelburn to Dorse McFadden and Hattie McCollough McFadden. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Ravenell Taylor McFadden, whom he married Oct. 21, 1942, she died June 3, 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Strain of Columbia, Tenn., and Kathy Baker and her husband Bill of Sullivan; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and other rellatives. He also was preceded in death by his parents. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, Fairbanks Township, Sullivan County, Indiana; Wabash Valley Model A Club; Sullivan American Legion; Sullivan Chapter Order of the Eastern Star; Sullivan Masonic Lodge and Fairbanks Saddle Club. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holmes Memorial Chapel. Burial is in Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
