Ms. Sherelyn Diane Yeager, age 70 of Newnan, passed away peacefully at Piedmont Fayette Hospital on March 2, 2015. Ms. Yeager was born in Newnan on June 6, 1944 and was a lifelong resident of Newnan. She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and spent many years serving her church. Ms. Yeager loved her grandchildren and family dearly. After retiring from Walmart, she enjoyed traveling with her husband Richard of 42 years.
She is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Hannah; husband, Richard Yeager and son Brian Yeager.
Surviving are her mother, Marguerite Kilgore Hannah; son, Allen (Brenda), Grantville; daughter, Tracy (Tommy) Pope, Newnan; brother, Greg Hannah (Sharon), Grantville, sisters, Vickie Bearden and Peggy Duncan of Newnan, Phyllis (Howard) Barnes of Hogansville. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The funeral services for Ms. Yeager will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5 at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Pastors David Arrington and L.B. Rooks officiating. The interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
