Ellie V. "Cope" Copeland, 77, Keeling Road, died Sunday at a local hospital. Survivors, daughter, Mrs. Jean C. Griffith, Gadsden; sons, Ellis V. Copeland, Gadsden, Charles W. Copeland, Shreveport, LA; brother, E.B. Copeland, Jackson, MS; sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Crawley, Bessemer, Mrs. Ruth Allbritton, Gardendale; and eight grandchildren. Service at Crestwood Chapel and burial in Crestwood Cemetery. He was a former owner of Copeland Landscaping Company, member of First Methodist Church, American Legion Post 5 and 100F.
