One of three albino children born to Abigail "Abbie" Jane (HARWELL) and William "Good Billy" Richardson BROWN. T.F. BROWN first married Martha "Mattie" WHARTON in 1858 at Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co., TN. Their first child Alvia Price BROWN was born 21 Jan 1863 in Giles Co., TN while their second son Ernest Wharton BROWN was born Sep 1864 in Georgia. I was told the Browns had a farm in Georgia and Mattie's parents lived in Clarke County, Georgia. My thought is that the family moved to get away from the front line of the war. In 1865, my family's tradition says that Mattie fled into the river bottoms outside of Bethel, Giles Co., TN with Alvia and Ernest to flee from carpetbaggers where she caught a cold that eventually led to her death. In 1870, T.F. BROWN was again married, this time to Fannie E. KENNEY. Both wives are buried next to Reverend BROWN in the cemetery named for his father.
"died" 22 Apr 1882. "Aged 49 yrs 8 mo's 13 dy's." (off base, broken in half but repaired, leaning
against base with the top one third leaning against main part. Wayne Austin probably lifted this stone off the ground so
photo could be taken and put the parts together. It is evident that's what happened by last photo. mb.)
