She was the daughter of Freidrich William Lebreht Wagner and Caroline Wilhelma Ludwig. Maria had five siblings:
William, Emil, Frank, Anna Souweine and Emma Schwarze. She married Julius Anton Huber April 16 1876. Julius and Maria had nine children: Julius Robert, William Franklin, Alexander Emil, Edward, Charles, Richard, Caroline , Anna and Anton. She died just two years after her husband, her youngest son Anton was just five. The older children tried to raise the younger until the girls were taken into an orphanage.
