Revolutionary War Soldier:

In the fall of 1775, he was enrolled as a second lieutenant in the company of Capt John Mynderse, 2d Albany County Militia. In January 1776 he took part in the expedition to Johnstown and in the spring of the same year went to Sacandaga under General Clinton to erect fortifications. In July 1777 he marched with his company to Fort Edward. he served during Schuyler's retreat, engaging in most of the skirmishes.
