Obsequies for the late Mr. James Camps Sr.

Mr. James Camps Sr. was born June 28, 1925, in Jonesville, FL. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Essie Camps.

He came to Gainesville as a young man where he remained until his death. He was United in Holy Matrimony on August 30, 1943 to Mrs. Lola Mae Dennis. They were blessed with eight children.

He was a member of The Greater Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church. He was ill and taken to Alachua General Hospital. All was done to prolong his life but to no avail. He was called to rest Monday July 29, 1985.

Those who will miss him most, a beloved wife Lola Mae Camps; nine children, James Camps Jr., Pauline Walker, Johnnie H. Camps, Louis M. Camps, Jane Camps, Edward Camps, Deloris Ellis, Leo Camps, all of Gainesville, FL, Sgt. Danny Kilpatrick of Germany, U.S. Army. Parents, Essie & Robbie Camps, of Gainesville, FL; Three daughter-in-laws, Armerdell Camps, Carolyn Camps, Diane Camps, all of Gainesville, FL; Two son-in-laws, Jerry Walker, James Ellis, of Gainesville, FL; Three sisters, Jessie McKnight, Pearl Sanders, Janie Sandford; Three brothers, Elder Joseph Camps Sr., Bishop Walter Camps Sr., all of Gainseville, FL, John Camps, of Orlando. FL; Three brother-in-laws, Bishop J.E. McKnight, Willie Sanders, Horace Sandford, all of Gainesville, FL; Three sister-in-laws, Sarah Camps, Nellie Camps, both of Gainesville, FL, and Mrs. J. Camps, Of Orlando FL.
One sister and one brother precede him in death, Vanilla Bivens, and Jesse Camps.
Fourteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
A special friend Alfred Dickerson.
