ROSE WOTACHEK

On Feb. 29, 2004 Rose Wotachek began her long awaited journey to unite with her family and the Lord. She passed peacefully at Shady Lane Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004 at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Holy Redeemer Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William O'Brien.

Rose was born Aug. 31, 1907 in Austria, daughter of the late Sebastian and Catherine Craft Mandek. The family came through Ellis Island in 1912 and settled in Two Rivers. On Aug. 31, 1926, she married Edward H. Wotachek at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1981. Rose was a homemaker until later years when she became employed at Schwartz Manufacturing Company retiring in 1970. She was active in the ladies church organizations and the Two Rivers Senior Center. Rose enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, baking and especially a good game of cards.

Survivors include three grandchildren: Mary (Bob) Oakleaf, Chicago, Ill.; Judy Kirchen and her special friend, Randy LaPointe, Green Bay; Charles (Mina) Kirchen, Ely, Nev.; five great-grandchildren: Brenda (Jerry) Czekala, Two Rivers; Jennifer Kirchen, Las Vegas, Nev.; David Kirchen, Ely, Nev.; Amanda Hein, Two Rivers; Alexander Hein, Two Rivers; two great-great-grandchildren: Darik Voss, Manitowoc; Kendrah Czekala, Two Rivers; a son-in-law: Arthur Kirchen, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter: Dolores; and infant son, Edward; three sisters: Magdaline Kakuk, Theresa Busch, Josephine Lantange; and a special friend, Mary Kakuk.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Holy Redeemer Site, Two Rivers. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Shady Lane and Wildwood Estates for their loving care and to Dr. Gary Schmidt. The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
