She first married Charles Frederick Workman on 15 June 1952 at Ronceverte, West Virginia. He is the son of Workman and Bessie Workman Vaughan. he was born on March 18, 1919 at Ronceverte, W.VA. she was 18 and he was 33 at the time of their marriage. They divorced on November 1952.

She married second Donald Duane Persons on 30 April 1955.
She is the mother of:
- Tickle
- Vennesa

Mrs. Margaret Jane Persons, 36, of Roanoke, VA. formerly of Ronceverte, died Thursday morning in a Roanoke hospital, Cause of death has not been determined. She lived in Roanoke for four years. Survivors include her husband, Donald of Salem, VA.; two daughters, Tickle and Vennesa, both of Salem; Two sisters, Mrs. Ecklene Hedrick and Mrs. Mary ??Neal, both of Ronceverte, and four brothers, Clarence of Highsvill, MD., Charles of Raleigh, N.C. and Lewis and Burton Holcomb, both of Ronceverte. Mrs. Persons Dies; Services Scheduled.
RONCEVERTE (RNS) - Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Jane Persons, 36, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Ronceverte, will be at 2 p.m. today in the Ronceverte Christian Church with Rev. John Martin in charge. Burial will b e in Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery at Organ Cave.
Mrs. Persons died Tuesday morning in a Roanoke hospital after a short illness.
