Leeds - Donald E. Tripp,80 a resident of the Plains Road, Leeds died Late Tuesday, Jan.30 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Winthrop following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Raymond, June 3, 1915, the son of O. Elliott and Marzie Hodgkin Tripp and was educated in the schools of Raymond and New Gloucester.
He married the former Ethlyn Burnham in Monmouth, Dec. 17, 1937.

Mr Tripp had been employed by Albany Felt Co., North Monmouth, Bancroft and Martin Corp., Leeds and for 35 years as an orchardist for the University of Maine Experimental Station at Highmoor Farm in Monmouth retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Tri Corner Club, 15 year member Sabbathday Lake Grange and a member of the Leeds Voulunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Tripp enjoyed the interest of hunting, fishing and gardening and had served the Town of Leeds as Selectman for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife of Leeds; three daughters, Mrs Donald (Kathleen) Thayer, Winterport; Miss Marilyn Tripp of Leeds; Mrs Earland (Noreen) Holt of Leeds; one sister, Mrs Aldine Meserve of Raymond; two grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Reginald Tripp.
