The Oklahoman, Jan 26, 1970:
Rosary for William Earl O'Brien, 73, of 3304 NW 22, will be at 7:30 pm Monday at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 am Tuesday at St Patrick's Catholic Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. He died Saturday at a local convalescent home.

O'Brien was born west of Edmond, where his father, the late M. A. O'Brien, OK County sheriff in the early 1900's homesteaded. He served in the medical corps during World War I. He retired in 1961 from OK Gas & Electric Co after 39 years of service. At his retirement, he was division store keeper. He was active in veteran's affairs, a member of American Legion Post 35 for more than 40 years and a member of the 40 && 8 Club. He was a member of St Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Clara June; a daughter, Mrs Phillip Braun, 201 Freemont; two sons, Dale E., 1324 Sunway; and Edwin E., 11612 N. Victoria Drive; a sister, Mrs Dale Smith, 2541 NW 55 Place; and a brother, Leo, 3320 NW 21.
