Civil War Veteran - 18th PA Cav

Samuel Filby, who has been an invalid for several years, died at home in the North Ward, on Monday, September 26, 1898, aged about 53 years. He served in the 18th Pennsylvania Calvary during the Civil War. He leaves a wife and one son. A number of the GAR Post, of this place, attended the funeral. Interment at Carmichaels.
