Monzelle DeMott Shiflett
Born: August 13, 1917
Died: October 17, 2015
Mrs. Monzelle DeMott Shiflett, 98, of Adel, Georgia, passed away October 17, 2015 at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, Georgia. She was born August 13, 1917 in Cairo, Georgia to her late parents, Allen Perry "A.P." DeMott and Candis Kelley DeMott. She lived most of her life in Cook County where she was retired from Whidby Jewelers after serving as a clerk for more than fifty years. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Adel.
Mrs. Shiflett is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law: four grandchildren: 15 grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford "Cliff" Otis Shiflett; two grandchildren: Michael W. Howze and Kathy Howze Lewis; a great-grandson, Hayden Eisenhower; and a son-in-law, Roy Howze.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Westside Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Ray and Rev. Julian Griner officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel. The family will receive friends at Westside Baptist Church one hour prior to the service.
