Mr. Shepherd was born Sept. 24, 1882, in Fortville, Ind., and had lived 20 years in Union Mills coming from North Judson. He was a retired farmer.
He was married in 1902 to Maude Fisher who died in 1962. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, Union Mills.
Surviving are a son, Loan of South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Ralph Cecil of Indianapolis; two brothers, Newton of Indianapolis, and Sanford of Union Mills: six grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
