Alma N. Jones passed away into eternal rest on January 14, 2015. Alma was born December 8, 1921 to Henry and Anna (Langosch) Newcomb. She graduated from Garrettsville High School in 1939. Alma married Ralph "Bud" Jones on June 29, 1940 and moved to Nelson where she remained until her death.
Alma was a former food service worker at James A. Garfield Schools for many years. She was an active member of Nelson United Methodist Church, The Literary Musical Club of Nelson and the Twentieth Century Club of Garrettsville.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Edward, and her grandson Jeffrey. Surviving are her son, Hank (Carole), son Howard (Glenna); daughter, Peggy Theriot and daughter-in-law, Iris (Ed) Jones; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 10am to 12 noon at the Nelson United Methodist Church, 9353 St. Rte. 305, Garrettsville, Oh 44231, where a remembrance service will follow at 12:00 noon.
in lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Alma's name to the Nelson United Methodist Church.
