Architect. He was born Demetrio Ribes Marco in Valencia, Comunidad Valenciana, Spain. After studying in Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid, he became one of the most important architects of his generation along with Francisco Mora or Sancho Fuster. Ribes' works were influenced by Modernism, but in his last years he was one of the pioneers introducing the Rationalism in his buildings. His most famous works are the Estación del Norte (North Station) and Mercado de Colón, both in Valencia. Other of his buildings Casa de Correos y Telégrafos in Castellón, La Equitativa Building, Plaza de Toros (Bullring) de Xàtiva and his own house in Eugenia Viñes street. He died in his hometown.
