Arietta B. Nicholson, 92 of Central City, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015. Arietta served her country during WWII, as a cook, in the Air Corp, and was discharged at Smyrna Army Air Field, in 1945. She was also a longtime member of the Faith United Methodist Church, in Fort Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Janis Chapen of Alma and Sue Nicholson, of Central City, a son in law Rufus Lewis, of Hartford, and two sisters, Betty Gasper, of Central City and Wanda Walter, of Bloomer. Also eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry H. Bivins and Florence Bivins Moody. Also preceding her, was her husband Claude, in 1984, and a daughter Linda Lewis.

There will be a graveside service, on Tuesday January 13, 2015, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, concluding with military honors.
