Samuel Bonner Kersey, Jr. was born in Kings Norton, Sorcester, England. (Certificate of Registration District #365 BB 261338)

Cemetery records show that he was born at YardleyWood, Worcester. Perhaps that is where he told people that he was born or maybe he was. It is near Kings Norton and in that district.

He never married. On the 1900 U.S. Census of Pleasant Green, Salt Lake County, Utah he is listed as head of household born Jan 1863 age 37 single, farmer with his mother, Jane Kersey, born Nov 1831 age 68 widow. They came to Utah in 1873.

His niece and nephews were also listed in his household in 1900 since their mother, his sister, Martha Kersey Hoffman had died in 1887.

The family moved on to Soldier where he and his brother James worked in the mines in Hailey and tried to farm.
