She taught the 3 and 4-year-old Sunday School Class, 3rd Grade Weekday Church School, and was Secretary/Treasurer of her Sunday School Class for 13 years. She was on the Evangelism Committee and Music and Worship Committee for many years. She also organized the Greeters and Nursery League for the church. She was an athlete and like being competitive in her sports. She played softball with the Womens Softball team from Cannon Mills. She organized the Womens Duck Pin Bowling league in Kannapols in 1950. She was the first vice president of the North Carolina Duck Pin Association. When Duck Pin Bowling ended she changed to the Ten Pins. She was Woman Bowler of the year in 1993. She won many awards and tournaments in her bowling
