Linda Lou Alley Archer, 75, of Max Meadows, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015. She was born in Carroll Co., on July 16, 1939, the daughter of the late Ivan Marion "Bud" Alley, Sr. and Bessie Bell Funk Alley. She was a graduate of George Wythe High School Class of 1957 and was a member of the Marching Band for 4 years. She had worked for the Discovery Island Day Care and was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Archer. Surviving are her husband, Melvin Graham Archer; sons, Jeff Archer, Chris Archer; stepson, Jermey Bishop all of Max Meadows; grandchildren, Brandon Archer, Justin Archer, Shaun Archer; great-grandchildren, Kali Archer, Jackson Archer; sister, Donna A. Mabry & Fiance' Randy Turner of Pulaski; brothers, Ivan M. Alley, Jr. & Phyllis of Pulaski, Olen P. Alley, Sr. of Austinville.Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Cope and the Rev. Bill Shupe officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Wytheville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday evening at the Barnett Funeral Home or the residences of her sons at any time. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Archer Family.
