James Ritchie is son of William JJ Ritchie and Arminda Caroline Hall. He is the husband of Cora Lucy Cox and the father of Ethel, Pearl and Floyd Ritchie. His birthdate varies in the census records and so I kept the one his father used when filing for Civil War pension and named his childrens birthdates. At the time of his death he had remarried to a Mrs. Demonia Foster Feb 10, 1906. James killed himself.

The funeral records say he is buried in Sparta, but I have looked many times and can not find a headstone.
James Ritchie bought plots at Sparta Cem. where Cora is buried and his sisters and other family members - it was on the back of a picture on the wall at Sparta church with his name. The minister showed it to me years ago as they really have no records for the cem.

Rest in peace my g-grandfather I never knew.
