Lewis T. "Lou" Kugler died at his Tehachapi home at the age of 76. He was cared for by his wife, daughters and granddaughters.

Born in Fulton County Georgia, he was the son of the late Henry Harris and Mattie (Gilley) Kuglar.

He married Melzena I. "Peg" Kugler. She survives.

Leaving Georgia, he went to Akron, Ohio where he was employed at Goodrich Tire Co. for many years. He owned and operated a gas station and garage in the late 1930s there. He moved to Porter Township in Pensylvania in the late '40s and owned and operated his own coal hauling business for a number of years before becoming employed in the road construction business. He worked on several Pennsylvania Turnpike interchages.

Next he moved to Imperial Beach, California and managed a mobile home park approximately 15 years prior to retiring and moving to Tehachapi.

Mr. Kugler was instrumental in raising his brothers and sisters following the death of his mother.

He belonged to the LOOM and VFW in Clarion, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ron (Connie) Fourmet of Tehachapi, Mrs. Kenneth (Jeanne) Parker of San Diego and Mrs. John (Louise) Smith of New Bethlehem; one son, John Kuglar of Orange Beach, Alabama; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Howard of Eugene, Oregon, Wilson of Seattle, Washington and Roy of Akron, Ohio; and two sisters, Dora Rowan of St. Marys, Florida and Helen Chapman of San Diego.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Luther Cordel, ("Jackie",) in 1934; and a sister, Bertha "Bea" Tribbey in 1964.

Services were held at the Woods Family Funeral Service Chapel in Tehachapi with the Rev. Marvin Anderson, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating.
