William J. Edmondson I, 87, died Tuesday, the 16th day of December, 2014, at Baptist Health Louisville. Born in Wardsville in Anderson County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Norris and Hazel Coulter Edmondson. He was a member of the Little Union Baptist Church, and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. His memberships also included the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, the North American Hunting Club, and he was also a member and strong supporter of the National Rifle Association. An outdoorsman and farmer, he loved life and he loved animals. He was an employee of General Electric for forty years and a member of Local 761, IUE, serving as a union steward for over thirty years.

His survivors include his wife, Cora Mae Rogers Edmondson of Louisville; his children, Sandra Edmondson of Taylorsville, Julie Constantine of Hollywood, Alabama, Darrell Edmondson of Taylorsville, Sharon Edmondson of Louisville, William J. "Billy" Edmondson II, of Taylorsville, Sue Edmondson of Louisville, and Patricia Niehoff of Louisville; his brothers, Robert Edmondson of Boulder, Colorado, and Freddie Edmondson of Louisville; his sisters, Helen Gehm of New Albany, Indiana, and Louise Wells of Louisville; his twelve grandchildren, his thirteen great-grandchildren, and his three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, the 20th day of December, 2014, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, with Pastor Mavis Bennett and Reverend Joe Vires officiating. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M., until 8:00 P.M., Friday, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Little Union Baptist Church or to the National Rifle Association.
