Albert T. Miller died at 7 o'clock Friday evening at his home, No. 85 East Second street, after an illness of about one months duration with stomach trouble and other complications. Mr. Miller's condition had been serious for two or three weeks, during which period his death was expected at almost any time. The funeral was held from the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, the pastor Rev. U.S.A. Bridge officiating. The burial was in Oak Grove cemetery. The funeral was under the auspices of Hercules lodge No. 127 K. of P. of which the decedent had been a member for many years.

Mr. Miller the the son of Samuel and Mary Miller, deceased, and was born in Washington township November 2, 1854, being fifty-seven years and three months of age at the time of his demise. He spent all his life in Miami county and for a number of years was a teacher in the public schools of the county and followed farming. He was deputy county treasurer under W. H. Zimmerman for two terms and in 1896 was elected as Mr. Zimmerman's successor in that office and was reelected in 1898. During the campaign of 1896 Mr. Miller was laid up with a long siege of typhoid fever and was unable to make a canvass of the county. His election by a large majority was evidence of his great popularity in the county.

After retiring from the office of county treasurer Mr. Miller engaged in the hardware business in Peru for a time. For some time prior to the beginning of his last illness he was a salesman in the Ager buggy and harness store.

The decedent is survived by a wife and one son, Earl Miller. His son, Cleve Miller, preceded him in death about two years. Surviving are also several brothers and sisters and many other relatives and a large circle of friends.
