George Ralph King was born April 13, 1931 in Frazee, Minnesota to Ralph and Pearl (Cole) King. He was a 1949 graduate of Frazee High School. Following his graduation, George served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Darlene Lundberg, August 8, 1954 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They had three children, two daughters and a son.

George and Darlene made their home in Frazee where George joined his dad as the Standard Oil Bulk Agent. Following Ralph's retirement, George took over operation of the business. He also drove a school bus for Anderson Bus Company, worked for the Furey Funeral Home and Ambulance Service, and supervised the assembly and delivery of the Minneapolis Tribune Sunday newspaper in Frazee. He then worked for the Anderson Bus Company in Moorhead, Minnesota. He later purchased this business and named it King's Superior Bus Sales and operated this business until Superior Bus Company went out of business. He served as a Becker County Commissioner and co-owned and operated the Giant Wash Laundromat with their Uncle Art Olson.

George was a founding member of the Frazee Rescue Squad, a 24 year veteran of the Frazee Fire Department where he served as Assistant Fire Chief and was a past Commander of Heart O' Lakes V. F. W. Post 7702. He treasured time with his family, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Many hours were spent collecting aluminum cans and fruit jars and going to auction and garage sales with his grandchildren.
