Elmer H. Fritz, 74, of 244 E. Bank Studied at 12:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 1982, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born March 15, 1908, in Woodhull, a son of August and Louise Bierhals Fritz. On May 9, 1936, he married Gladys Geiger in Fond du Lac. The couple resided in Fond du Lac their entire married life. A graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School and Fountain City Business College, Mr. Fritz was employed by Rueping Leather Co. as paymaster and later as a time study engineer before his retirement in 1973 after 46 years with the firm. A member of Covenant United Methodist Church since 1938, Mr. Fritz served on the financial board and as auditor of the church for several years. He was a member of the church's Alpha Phi Class and the Men's Club. He also served as past chairman of the Key Men's Club at Rueping Leather and was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. David (Marjorie) Miller of St. Peter; one son, Donald E. of Madison; three granddaughters and one grandson. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Candlish Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Candlish Chapel, with the Rev. David S. Warren and the Rev. Verlyn C. Harr officiating. Burial will be in Estabrook Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Covenant United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
