Edmund Shelley Armitage, 81, of Nampa, ID, passed away peacefully at his home on March 16, 2006, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the First Christian Church (619 12th Ave. So. Nampa). Burial with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise.

Ed was born in Glenns Ferry, ID on Dec. 17, 1924 to Shelley and Ora (Trendall) Armitage. He graduated Valedictorian from King Hill High School in 1942 and joined the Navy that fall to serve in the World War II effort.

Ed married Wilma, his wife of 60 years on July 19, 1946. They raised two children, Linda and Bob. For most of his life, Ed pursued his love of farming. Ed was a member of the First Christian Church in Nampa.

Ed is survived by his wife, Wilma; his son, Bob Armitage; his daughter, Linda Schrader; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church at 619 12th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651. Arrangements are under the direction of the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel.
