Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court. He was also the mayor of Cairo, Illinois from 1864 to 1865 and also held positions as Circuit Court Judge for the 26th judicial circuit. He last served as Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court from June 1893 to June 1894.
