Christine Wills Mitts, 95, of Williamstown, Ky., died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born Dec. 29, 1910, in Nicholas County, Ky., the daughter of Santford Elmer and Grace Lillian Hardin Wills. She was former co-owner and operator of the Mitts General Store in Lawrenceville, Grant County, Ky., and operated a "huckster truck" route with her late husband, John S. Mitts. She was a 65-year member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church in Grant County; a Sunday school teacher for many years; a member of the Women's Missionary Union; was treasurer of her church for 25 years; and was former director of the Crittenden Baptist Association's W.M.B.

Surviving are three daughters, Betty Sebree of Madison, Charlotte Delaney of Williamstown, Ky., and Rita Hisel, no hometown available; two brothers, Floyd Wills of Falmouth, Ky., and Earl Wills of Independence, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, whom she married May 30, 1937, and who died June 6, 1960; two daughters, Lillian Frances Mitts, who died at 21 days, and a stillborn baby; and one son, John Marion Mitts, who died age three days.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lawrenceville, Ky., Baptist Church, with burial in Williamstown, Ky., Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lawrenceville Baptist Church, 3650 Lawrenceville Road, Corinth, KY 41010.

Her husband, John S. Mitts; a daughter, Lillian Frances Mitts; and her son, John Marion Mitts, preceded her in death.
