Pelatiah is reported as the daughter of Capt. Samuel Moore and Charity Hallett. She married, perhaps as a widow, to Joseph Titus (as his second wife) by license dated 12 Nov. 1764, presumably in old Hunterdon Co., NJ. Benjamin Moore of Hopewell, apparently Pelatiah's brother, was surety on the marriage bond.

Pelatiah's death date from her gravestone, as shown above, is published in the Cooleys' Genealogy of Early Settlers in Trenton and Ewing ... (1883), p. 271, and The Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey 43:124 (1968). She died in her 48th year. It is not clear as to whether she and Joseph Titus had any children.

Note: The birth date given above was previously contributed to this memorial by another member. This information needs to be verified, though is presumed to be correct as it is consistent with Pelatiah's age at death. Also, Pelatiah is reported to have married first to a Mr. Berrian according to ancestry.com family trees. However, her surname is recorded as Moore in her 1764 marriage bond. -Joseph R. Klett
