Onézime Soucy 1915-2012
At the Grand Falls General Hospital, June 8, 2012, Mr. Onezime Soucy of Foyer Notre-Dame Nursing Home of Saint-Leonard, passed away at the age of 96 years. He was the husband of the former Lilianne Gauvin. Born at Saint-Leonard in 1915, he was the last surviving child of the late Edmond and Clara (Desjardins) Soucy.
He is survived by his wife who is a resident of Foyer Notre-Dame Nursing Home of Saint-Leonard, seven children, Conrad of Connecticut, Gaetanne Levesque (Raymond) of Connecticut, Leo (Friend Susan) of Florida, Bertin (Gisele) of Baie Comeau, Quebec, Odeo of Florida, Linda Aines of Florida and Daniel of California, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His funeral service was held Friday, June 15th at 4 p.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church, with Father Roger Dionne officiating, assisted by Father Roland Poitras and Father Bertrand Ouellet. The pallbearers were Bertin Soucy, Leo Soucy, Daniel Soucy, Nicolas Soucy, Marco Morin and Paul Soucy. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
