Funeral services for Minnie Alberta Anderson were held Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sayre First Baptist Church with Tom Cooksey and Albert Warnken officiating. Burial was in the Sayre Doxey Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.

Minnie, the daughter of Lou Anna and Lee Rylant, was born December 4, 1908 in Merritt, OK and passed away August 29, 2002 in Lewisville Medical Center, Lewisville, TX at the age of 93 years, eight months and 25 days.

Minnie graduated from Merritt High School and received her teaching and master degrees from Southwestern State College. She began teaching at the Doxey School when she met and married Lester Anderson at Tucumcari, NM on October 6, 1938. They returned to the Doxey Community where he farmed and Minnie resumed her career teaching at Doxey. She later began teaching for Sayre Schools and continued until her retirement in 1970. Lester passed away in 1995. She was an active member of the Sayre First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Anna Lee Quisenberry.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou Rehmus of Flower Mound, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Ladona Anderson of Escondido, CA; one sister, Ila Mae Long of Elk City, OK; four grandchildren, Angela Lutz, Dallon Anderson, Mindy Landes, Alicia Anderson; and three great grandchildren, Sara, Emillie and Audrey.
