Nancy Lorraine Huffstetler Postell, age 80 of Shelby, NC, formerly of Andrews passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Peak Resources Nursing Facility in Shelby, NC.

She was a native of York County, SC and the daughter of the late Arthur and Ada Merritt Huffstetler. Nancy and her husband, moved to the Andrews area in 1972 where she stayed until moving to Shelby to be closer to family this year. She was a machine operator in the textile industry for several years and had worked with Environmental Services at District Memorial Hospital and Murphy Medical Center. She also could be found working at KFC in Andrews and Murphy along with care-taking and sitting with the elderly. Nancy never met a stranger and enjoyed entertaining people. Having a heart of gold, she was a very giving person and inspired many. Her hobbies included embroidery, collecting Angels and clocks and being around people, especially her family and close friends. She was a previous member of Mtn. View Baptist Church and current member of the Rowlands Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband William Hayden Postell in 2001; four step sons, Gary Postell, Jewell Postell, Harry Padgett and Gene Padgett; four brothers, Thomas Huffstetler, Lewis Huffstetler, Bill Blackwelder and Leroy Blackwelder; three sisters, Gladys Adam, Margie Keeter, and Louise Sexton and granddaughters, Andrea Lanier, Debbie Padgett and Crystal Sexton.

She is survived by two sons, Gene Sexton of Gastonia, NC and Jeffrey Postell of Boston, MA; two step sons, Samuel Postell of El Cajon, CA and Tim Postell of Gastonia, NC, a very special sister in law, Daphene Postell of Cherryville, NC, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several great-great- grandchildren and was a "granny too" to others.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in the Townson Rose Chapel of Andrews. Rev. Dana Dockery and Rev. Eddie Hardin will officiate. Burial will be in the Red Marble Baptist Church Cemetery.
