Gustav Adolph Rindt was born in West Salem, IL, son of Carl Frederick and Wilhelmina SangKabel Rindt. His brothers and sisters were Mary Louise Winters, Albertine Drexler, Charles Rindt, Caroline Williams, Frederick Rindt, and Christopher Rindt. He married Emma Dean Leek in 1897 in Terre Haute, IN. They were the parents of Margaret Hike, Harry Rindt, George Rindt, Helen Woodin, Howard Rindt, John "Max" Rindt and Alice Roberts Kerans.
They raised their family in Danville, IL for 46 years, where Gus was an employee of the Western Brick Co. for most of that period. He retired in 1942. He passed away at home in Danville.
