Aurore E. Normand, 86, a lifelong resident of Sanford, passed away on Thursday November 6, 2014 at the Newton Center in Sanford after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Sanford on August 7, 1928, a daughter of the late Auguste and Ernestine (Demers) Doiron.

A lifelong communicant of Holy Family Parish, she was a Eucharistic Minister, involved with the RCIA program and attended daily mass until her health declined.

She was previously employed at Kesslen Shoe and Sebago Moc for 34 years. Family and home was the center of her life.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Paul Guerin who passed away in 1972 and her second husband, Rosaire Normand who passed away in 2002. She is also predeceased by eight brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

She is survived by her children Robert Guerin and his wife, Lucille of Biddeford, Roger Guerin of Sanford, Jacqueline Guerin of Sanford, step children, Robert Normand and his wife, Suchin, of California, Richard Normand of Sanford, Paul Normand and his wife, Linda of Alfred, Alice Lambert and her husband, Thomas of Bangor, Annette Faraone and her husband, Joseph of Herndon, VA, Philip Normand and his wife, Laurie of Orono, sisters, Yvette Cormier of Dieppe, New Brunswick, Jeanne D’Arc Doiron of Sanford, Lucille Perron of Alfred, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11AM at St. Therese of Lisieux, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 U.S. Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
