Dau of E. & S. GriffinHer death certificate shows that this unmarried woman was born in Iowa. She was killed at 8:30 p.m. when a cyclone struck the village of Liter, now known as Literberry.

Agnes Rose Griffin was the 5th of 10 children born to Eleizer and Sarah Stimpson Griffin. Two census forms list Illinois as place of birth. Her father died when she was 18 years old in Liter, Illinois.

The 1883 storm destroyed the town and completely wrecked the family home and business. Agnes' lifeless form was carried out from the house debris; her older sister Ruth, also buried, survived. Her younger sister Nellie sustained a thigh fractured, scalp wound, clavicle broken and internal injuries. Four other members of the Griffin Family died from their injuries.

She was 23 years old.

Teresa Lamme, who posted the headstones of her father and brothers Graph and Horace, confirmed she is buried in the abandoned Adam Price cemetery, also known as Bethlehem Cemetery.
