Harry J. Smith, 85, of Beach Haven, NJ, passed away on October 24, 2014. He was born on October 30, 1928. He spent his childhood in State College, PA and attended Penn State University where he was a member of the wrestling team. He enlisted in the Navy in 1946 and successfully completed the Flight Training Program in Pensacola, Florida. He was employed for 41 years at ARI where he met his wife Dorothy. Harry had a warm smile, a zest for life, and a passion for his family, fishing, boating, cars, and gardening. Beloved husband of 58 years to Dorothy (nee Donner). Devoted father of Susan Burkhardt (Len) and Steven Smith (Shannon). Loving grandfather of Jake, Hannah and Shane. Dear brother of Floss (deceased), Grace, Jim (deceased), Jack (deceased), Anne and Jean.

Relatives and friends will gather next Saturday, November 8th for a memorial service at Terrace First United Methodist Church at 101 E. New Jersey Ave. & Beach Ave., at 130th Street in Beach Haven Terrace, NJ 08008 beginning at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
