Royce was a member of the United States Air Force, serving in the U.S., Japan, and Alaska, retired after 22 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1974, and moved to San Antonio where he continued working 18 additional years with the Federal Government, retiring in 1992. After his retirement, he kept busy at their ranch in Willow City, Texas.
He and Ilene were long time members of Shepherd King Lutheran Church of San Antonio, where he previously served as head usher and treasurer.
He preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ilene, an infant daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Beyer, brother, Chester Beyer, and a sister Darlene Beyer Martin, sister in law, Wilma Ulbricht.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Shepherd King Lutheran Church, at 303 W. Ramsey, San Antonio, Texas. His body will lie state from 10 to 11:00 A. M. prior to funeral services.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 P. M. in Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg.
Those who so desire may make memorial contributions in his memory to the Shepherd King Church.
