U. L. Anderson
Ulysses L. Anderson was born at Jasper, Ohio, September 19, 1872, and died June 10, 1928, in Huron S. D. following an illness of long duration.
Mr. Anderson was educated at Jasper, Ohio. He went to Calhoun County, Iowa, in 1899 and farmed a 240 acre farm there. He also embarked in the real estate business at Rockwell City, Ia., where he built up an extensive and profitable business.
He came to Huron in 1917 and at first engaged in the real estate business. For the last several years he had been superintendent of the United States Employment bureau here.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge and Muscovites here, the Huron lodge, 444, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and of the Encampment at Rockwell City.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Julia Carlson of Sioux Falls, and Miss Mary Anderson of Sioux Falls, four brothers, Samuel and Joseph Anderson of Rockwell City, Ia, Frank Anderson of Jefferson, Ia., and James Anderson of Evanston, Ill.
Both of his daughters were at his bedside at the time of his death, also his brother-in-law, O. C. Walters of Manson, Ia., and his son-in-law, Carl Carlson of Sioux Falls.
The funeral services were held Tuesday morning, June 12, at 8:30 o'clock in Kinyon's chapel. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows assisted by the Elks lodge, were in charge of the services. Interment was made in the Odd Fellows lot in the cemetery.
He has always been loyal and faithful to every trust and leaves a host of friends in Huron and elsewhere
