Mr. Whitehead, who resided at 5720 Oakridge Street, was the oldest employe in years of service of the city's transportation system, having served continuously for 52 years.

HE WAS BORN IN SCOTLAND NECK, N. C. and came to Jacksonville 57 years ago. When he became connected with the transportation line, this city was served by horse-drawn street cars. He had continued to serve through the system's advancement to trolley's and finally to buses.
