CATHERINE C SALZMAN

..Catherine C. Salzman, 77 died Sunday, March 4, at her home in Worland.

..She was born April 14, 1906 in Louis, Russia, to Matthew and Susanne (Denning) Hein. On Feb. 17, 1925 she married Peter H. Schaff in Red Lodge, Mont. He died in 1967. On March 19, 1970, she married John M. Salzman in Worland.

..She moved to the United States with her family in 1907 living in Hays, Kan., and Longmont, Colo., before moving to the Big Horn Basin in 1917. She received her citizenship papers in 1954. During World War II, she was employed by Holly Sugar Company. She was a member of St, Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and a charter member of the Mother Cabrini Discussion Group at the church.

..She was a member of the North American Benefit Association, the East Side Club and the Eagles Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Worland Women's Club, Senior Home Economics club, the Collopy Club, the National Federation of Republican Women, the Washakie County Historical Society and had been active in the Red Cross serving as a Grey Lady and First aid instructor. Survivors include her husband, John Salzman of Worland; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Irene) Byram of Worland; three step-daughters. Mrs. James (Virginia) Foreman of Vancouver, Wash. Mrs. Barbara Ploude of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Jenkins of Seattle, Wash; two sisters, Mrs. Bud (Susanne) Brotherson of Ft. Morgan, Colo., and Elizabeth Hilt of Aurora, Colo., and 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

..Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday at the Veile Mortuary Chapel. The Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening following the Ash Wednesday service at St. Mary Magdalen church.

..Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 8 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery.

..Memorials may be made to the fund of the donor's choice.
