Geneva A. Rist passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 in Lexington Court Care Center surrounded by her family. She was 96.

She was born June 8, 1919 to parents Ross and Gladys (Rinehart) Scott in Knox County, Ohio.

On June 17, 1940 she married Paul D. Rist and they shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 1992. They are together again.

Geneva worked at Westinghouse, Dominion, and Essex Wire, where she worked until retiring in 1984. Living in the Lexington area most of her life she was very active with Beta Kappa Tau Sorority, the Lexington VFW Post # 5105 and the Lexington Elks Lodge #0509.

In spare time, she took pleasure in fishing with her husband at Lake Erie. But above all, Geneva cherished her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Diana (William) Roop; grandchildren Leah Wachtel, Erica Day (Jeremy Banta), Amber Roop, and Joshua Roop; seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Velma Coldwell, Lloyd Scott, Dale Scott, Kenneth Scott, Rowena Johnson, and Betty Stumbaugh.

A funeral service in Geneva’s memory will be held Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home with an hour of calling at 9 a.m. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will be officiating with burial to follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
