He will also be missed by: his children, Connie Charlene Ostrander, Myra Jo Brooks, Therese Elena (Danny Huddleston) Hughey, Michael Anton (Nola) Hughey, Christina Marie DeWeese, & Anita Louise (Robert) Harvey; his son-in-law, Gary Snodgrass; his grandchildren, Amy, Stephanie, Leah, Kristi, Julia, Nichole, Jami, Cassie, Jacob, Tonya, Jeanna, Nathan, Kathie, Anna, & Aaron; his 20 great grandchildren; his brother, James P. (Elizabeth) Hughey; and his sisters, Ethel Elizabeth (Donald) Jones, , & Charlotte Allen. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his children John Francis Hughey Jr., Richard Lee Hughey, Donald Allen Hughey, Linda Sue Snodgrass, & Vernon Lee Hughey; his son-in-law, James Ostrander; his brother, Charles Bernard ‘Butch’ Hughey; and his sister, Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Marie Darling.
Johnny worked as a carpenter for 40 years plus and was a member of the Union Local 60. He enjoyed woodworking and foster parenting. He loved to go fishing, bowling, and tinkering on vehicles. Johnny was a man known to find a joke and laughter in everything and truly was a wonderful man. He will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held at 11am, Friday, October 10, 2014, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm.
