Ringgold Sterling

Ringgold L. "Si" Sterling, 83, of Beaglin Park Drive in Salisbury, formerly of Crisfield, died Tuesday July 23, 1991, at Salisbury Nursing Home of heart failure.

He was born in Crisfield, a son of the late Frederick Sterling and Mary Carman Sterling.

Sterling was a World War II Navy veteran and retired in 1969 as assistant postmaster of the Crisfield post office. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Salisbury and Stanley Cochrane American Legion Post 16 in Crisfield. He was a life member of Crisfield Elks Lodge 1044, where he was treasurer for a number of years. He graduated from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington.

He is survived by his wife, Otelia E. Sterling; two daughters, Joan S. Crockett of Crisfield, and Judith S. Weseman of Salisbury; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service was held Friday at Bradshaw and Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. The Rev. Thomas Gross officiated. Interment was at Asbury Cemetery in Crisfield.
