Pamela Guyer was involved in a two car head-on collision at 9:00 p.m., Monday night, July 21, 1975, three and a half miles west of Solon on Highway 382. Her son, Brian Guyer, age 9, a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene. Mrs. Guyer was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals, where she later died. Mrs. Guyer apparently attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with another vehicle at the crest of a hill.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, at St. Wenceslaus Church, Iowa City. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery New, Iowa City, Iowa. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, July 23, at 8:00 p.m., at George L. Gay Funeral Home, Iowa City.
Pamela Marie Meyer was born February 8, 1948, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Alice (Buline) Meyer. She was employed at Owens Brush Company. She married Robert Guyer and were later divorced.
Surviving are one son, Bradley Guyer; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meyer; one brother, William Meyer of Iowa City; two sisters, Beverly Probst of Iowa City, and Frances Schneider of West Liberty; and her grandparents, Alma Buline, and Mr. and Mrs. August Meyer, all of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Guyer.
