WOODBINE - Charles R. Begg, 88, Woodbine, died Saturday at a Woodbine nursing home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Calvary United Methodist Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Denton Erickson will officiate. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under direction of the Maurer Funeral Home.
Mr. Begg was born June 30, 1888, in Le Mars. He married Claribel A. Schrooten June 29, 1917, in Dakota City. The couple farmed and Begg also worked for the Iowa Highway Commission for many years. They farmed in Plymouth County until moving to Le Mars in 1931. They moved to Woodbine in 1964.
Survivors include the widow; three sons, Donald of Underwood, Wayne of Anthony and Wendell of Santa Ana, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. H. F. (Dorothy) Etzel of Sioux City, Mrs. J. E. (Bonnie) Nuzum of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Clar (Beverly) Gunther of Woodbine and 15 grandchildren.
