Sam Joseph Goodman Sr. age 91 of Marietta died Sunday March 11, 2007.

After leaving Jacksonville, FL where he was born and raised, Mr. Goodman worked at Southern Burglar Alarms of Atlanta for many years. He graduated from Atlanta Law School in 1947.

After retirement as a Sales Representative in the confections brokerage industry where he owned his own business, Mr. Goodman worked with his son at the John P. Goodman Lawn Care Company. Mr. Goodman was a member of the Mt. Paran Church of God of Atlanta for 36 years.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Martha, daughter Carol Goodman Todd and grandsons David and Mark Todd, son S. Joseph Goodman Jr. and grandchildren Kelsey, Kendall, and Kylie Goodman, son Stephen M. Goodman, daughter-in-law Cathy and grandson Philip Goodman, daughter Mary Goodman Buechner, son-in-law Mike and grandchildren Zachary, Connor and Mickey Buechner, son John P. Goodman and daughter-in-law Adrienne, nephew Arthur O. Gunter, his wife Thea and their daughter Vickie, and his beloved cat Sweetie. Honorary escorts will be the Agape Sunday School class.

Services will be held at 1pm Thursday at the Mt. Paran Church of God with Pastor Kent Hawkins, Dr. David Cooper, Dr. Mark Walker and Rev. B.J. Moffett officiating. The body will lie in state from 12-1pm. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
